July 4th Celebration

The Neighborhood Club sponsors the Independence Day celebration this year on Wednesday, July 4th, 2012. Registration for the annual parade begins at 8:45 a.m. at the Union Fire House on Montgomery Ave. The parade route is the same as in previous years. The parade begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Union Fire House and ends at the Bala Cynwyd Playground.

The parade features neighborhood children riding decorated bicycles, marchers in costumes, clowns, jugglers, stilt walkers, floats, fire trucks, police, and public officials. Bring your blankets and beach chairs to the Playground and enjoy a patriotic program including music provided by Elaine Watts and The Summer Sounds Pop Band, salute the flag with Boy Scout Troop Bala One, and applaud our Citizen of the Year and Merchant of the Year.

Carnival games, foot races, and the ever-popular egg toss will follow the ceremony. Prizes will be awarded to parade participants as well as to the winners of the races. The Club will also award a prize to the house along the parade route that displays the best patriotic decorations. Union Fire Association will serve hot dogs and sodas. Come see our neighborhood children enjoy the pony rides, petting zoo, exotic animals, moon bounce, trackless train, bungee run, extreme rock wall, and carousel.

You can purchase bracelets for $15.00 each, or two for $25.00. Each bracelet will allow the wearer to enjoy all of the games and rides as many times as desired for the flat price. Don't miss this bargain! You can purchase sets of tickets in small denominations as well.

Come join us and celebrate the 4th!
And please consider making a special donation to help the 4th of July Celebration.
